Introducing Christians Sharing Christ (CSC)
In the
fall of 1969, a group of businessmen founded CSC in response to
a burden from God to tell people about Jesus Christ. They rented
a small dirt parking lot in the middle of the downtown marketplace
in San Jose, Costa Rica. Evangelistic meetings were held during
the day and followed by film presentations at night. People coming
to the market from all over Costa Rica and surrounding countries
had the opportunity to hear and see Gods plan of Salvation
presented. Many men, women, boys and girls accepted Christ as their
personal Savior and returned to their homes burdened to tell those
around them about what Jesus Christ had done for them. As a result,
God has allowed CSCs work to expand into 12 other countries
with over 150 missionaries and volunteers. Whether in large cities,
small towns or primitive villages along the Amazon River, God is
continuing to use CSC to reap a harvest of souls.
Our Mission Statement
To present the message of salvation using films, to the largest number of people in the shortest length of time.
Our Mission Strategy
Christians
Sharing Christ Film Ministries is an evangelistic organization presenting
the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the masses through film evangelism,
preaching, church planting and the distribution of Gods Word
and tracts. We accomplish this by providing a channel through which
local churches and individuals can be personally involved in the
sending out and support of soul-winning, spirit-filled missionaries.
In so doing, a vital relationship is established and maintained
between the missionaries and the supporters. Gospel films, such
as the "Jesus" film, "The Burning Hell" and
"No Greater Love", "Passion of the Christ" and
"Escape from Hell" reach over 1,000,000 people each year.
Recent statistics show on any given day, almost 3,000 people watch
one of our films and more than 300 decide to receive Jesus Christ
as their personal Savior. Each person that makes a profession of
faith is given a Gospel of John or New Testament and tract and names
are gathered for follow-up visitations by the local church.
Leadership
Patrick Calhoun serves as president of Christians Sharing Christ Film Ministries. A board of directors helps him to lead this ministry. He is also a full time businessman. He does not receive any income for his work for the ministry. He is also involved in church presentations regarding Christians Sharing Christ Film Ministries.
Our Financial and Support Policy
Christians Sharing Christ is a work of faith. We trust God to direct His people to supply the necessary funds for the support of the missionaries, the purchase of film equipment and literature. One-time gifts, monthly contributions and offerings from churches, individuals, businesses, Sunday school classes and Vacation Bible Schools support us. Every dollar received supports the work of CSCs missionaries. Neither the president nor any member of the Board will accept any salary for their work but instead will be active contributors. They are merely fellow servants in the work of the Kingdom. The Federal Government recognizes Christians Sharing Christ as a non profit organization with the tax-exempt status under section 501 (c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code. All gifts are tax-deductible. |
