We
at Christians Sharing Christ are convinced that God commissioned the
local church to serve as the primary instrument to carry the Good
News of Jesus to the peoples of the world. Because God has commissioned
the church to make disciples of the nations. He has provided ample
resources to help His church complete this great task. CSC is one
of these resources. This past year God used Christians Sharing Christ
Film Ministries, in partnership with churches and individuals in the
USA and indigenous churches throughout Latin America, to win over
110,000 souls to Christ in the year 2004.
In
this cooperative effort, CSC’s function was assisting the pastors and
indigenous churches in their outreach efforts of evangelization. We
accomplished this by utilizing a two-step process. First, CSC’s
missionaries taught lay-people in the partnering church how to do
personal evangelism, using the "The Big Question" tract or something
similar. Secondly, after the church people had received training in
counseling and soul winning during
the day, that evening CSC’s missionaries and the church would present
an open-air film presentation in the partnering church’s respective
community, or in an area where the church wanted to establish a new
church. From this mobilization process of teaching believers in the
local church how to share their faith in conjuction with the use of
visual media (films), people were saved, churches grew, and vibrant new
churches were birthed where none had previously existed. CSC’s
missionaries and evangelical churches, cooperatively, won many people
for Jesus.
In
a very real sense CSC can be thought of as a tool serving pastors,
individuals and churches in helping them to fulfill His last command. In order for us to fulfill God’s will for our lives, he gives us different tools to finish the work.
God
gave Moses a staff, David used slingshot to defeat a giant, and Samson
used a jawbone of a donkey. God gave CSC as an assistant to help the
church fulfill the Great Commission. CSC works alongside the church as
a tool to help fulfill God’s last command or the Great Commission. When
someone is dying or leaving us, their last words are very important.
Jesus’ last words before ascending to Heaven came as a command: "Go
unto all the world..." These words are not an option but a command to
His church and as all who call Him "Lord." |
